About the Creator — Benjamin Cain
In college, something clicked. I wasn’t the most driven student in high school, but once I found my purpose, everything changed. I set high standards, pushed myself, and graduated cum laude, eager to step into the world of engineering. What drew me in — and still does — is the idea that engineers play a direct role in improving the world: building new products, solving real problems, increasing efficiency, and making people’s lives a little easier.
My favorite part of engineering has always been the ideation stage — where imagination runs wild and possibilities are endless. It’s where ideas like Wall-A-Bowl are born.
Outside of work, my world revolves around my family — my wife, Anna, and our three kids: Allie, Emma, and Wyatt. We love spending time outdoors, hiking through forests to find hidden treasures like waterfalls and scenic overlooks. When I get the chance, I enjoy hobbies like flying RC airplanes, building detailed models, and woodworking — though life with kids doesn’t always leave much time for that!
My faith also plays a major role in everything I do. I believe that God made us caretakers of His creation, and that includes our pets. Building Wall-a-Bowl isn’t just about solving a messy problem — it’s about honoring that responsibility by helping people care for the animals entrusted to them.
Wall-a-Bowl is more than a product — it’s a mission born from love, faith, and a bit of engineering stubbornness. It’s a small way to make life easier for pet owners, keep homes cleaner, and help more pets stay in the families that love them.
The Story Behind Wall-a-Bowl
Like many pet owners, I started with the best intentions — I just wanted to make life comfortable for my dog, Luna. I thought simple food and water bowl on the floor would do the trick. But as any pet parent knows, it didn’t take long before I noticed the mess — food crumbs scattered across the floor, water rings soaking into the tile, and the constant need to scrub and wipe after every meal.
Trying to make things better, I bought a mat to contain the mess. It helped… until it didn’t. I found myself cleaning three things instead of two — the bowls, the mat, and the floor underneath. Then came the moment that changed everything. During a party at my house, someone accidentally stepped on the edge of the mat. Water went flying. Guests were laughing, but all I could think was: There must be a better way.
Being an engineer, I started thinking about the problem differently. Why were pet bowls always on the floor — the hardest place to clean, the easiest to spill? I tried gravity-fed containers next, and while they worked for a while, one small bump sent a wave of water across my kitchen floor. That’s when it hit me — the problem wasn’t the bowl. It was the location.
That’s how Wall-a-Bowl was born — a wall-mounted, gravity-fed food and water dispenser that simplifies the mess and improves life for pet owners. Wall-a-Bowl holds up to 25 pounds of food and 8 litters of water, so you don’t have to constantly refill or store bulky food bags in your pantry. Because it’s securely mounted, it’s nearly impossible to knock over, yet easy to detach for cleaning or refilling.
And here’s the part I love most: since Wall-a-Bowl is raised off the floor, your robotic vacuum, broom, or mop can easily clean underneath — merging pet cleanup with the sweeping and mopping you already do.
As someone who knows how small frustrations can build up, I wanted to design something that not only makes pet ownership easier but also helps people keep their pets. Too often, pets are abandoned when the daily upkeep feels overwhelming. If Wall-a-Bowl can make caring for your furry friend a little simpler — a little cleaner — then maybe it can help keep more pets in loving homes.
Wall-a-Bowl: Clean floors. Happy pets. Happy owners.
